Information Sheets

WSIAT Information Sheets are helpful resources designed to support you in preparing for and presenting at a WSIAT appeal. They provide:

  • General information on specific appeal issues
  • Practical guidance for getting ready for a hearing when these issues arise

These sheets are intended to make the process easier to understand and help you present your case effectively. They include:

  • A brief overview of the issue.
  • Relevant WSIA sections and WSIB policies a Vice-Chair or Panel may consider in adjudicating the issue.
  • Examples of questions a Vice-Chair or Panel may ask you at a hearing on the issue.
  • Examples of documents you may want to use or that you may be asked about by a Vice-Chair or Panel.

For information on specific procedural topics, please consult the WSIAT’s Practice Directions and Appeal Process guide.

Note: The contents of the Information Sheets are for general information purposes only and are not legal advice.

Each hearing is different. You, another party, or the hearing Panel may raise issues, questions, or evidence that are not covered in the WSIAT Information Sheets.
