Canada Post Services Have Resumed

Canada Post’s mail and XpressPost courier services have resumed. Effective October 14, 2025, WSIAT will once again be able to send and receive regular mail and XpressPost packages.

Limitation periods and procedural timelines that expired during the Canada Post strike (September 25 to October 11, 2025) will start again on October 14, 2025. Deadlines will be adjusted based on how much time was left in the time limit as of September 25. Starting October 14, all parties must follow the time limits set out in the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997, and comply with the procedural timelines in WSIAT’s Practice Directions.

It is the responsibility of all parties to calculate and meet their revised time limits or procedural deadlines. Information about how the WSIAT calculates time generally is set out in the WSIAT’s Practice Direction #35 – Calculation of Time.

Please note that it will take time for Canada Post to return to their regular service standards for delivery.  E-Share and E-File are still the most efficient ways of communicating with us.
