Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use at the WSIAT

AI plays a growing role in how organizations manage information and deliver services. At the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT), we recognize this shift and are committed to using AI in a way that is transparent, responsible and accountable. To support this commitment, the WSIAT has created this webpage to share information about its use of AI systems.

The WSIAT does not use AI to make or influence adjudicative decisions. All decisions are made solely by adjudicators and follow the principles of natural justice and fairness. AI is used only for limited administrative tasks that have no impact on the hearing processes and outcomes of appeals and applications.

The WSIAT regularly reviews its use of AI to ensure it protects adjudicative independence, maintains public trust, and aligns with legal and ethical obligations.

The WSIAT is committed to keeping relevant groups and individuals informed about its use of AI systems, including the WSIAT Advisory Group, in accordance with the WSIAT Consultation Policy as appropriate.
