Guide to the Responsible Use of Generative AI in WSIAT Proceedings

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT) has developed a Guide to support the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence (generative AI) by parties and representatives in Tribunal proceedings. The Guide explains how existing professional, ethical, and procedural responsibilities apply when generative AI tools are used in preparing or presenting a case. Parties and representatives remain responsible for the content and conduct of their case, whether or not they use generative AI tools.

The Guide provides guidance on maintaining accuracy and human oversight, protecting personal and confidential information, and being transparent about the use of generative AI. It is intended to support the responsible use of these tools while maintaining the fairness and integrity of the Tribunal’s processes.
